The Birth of Flight pt 4
24"x36", Acrylic on Canvas (2011)
Sept 1, 1939 marked the beginning of dark days as it was when the Nazi's invaded Poland, setting WWII in motion. One of the stars of the battle was the Ju 87 Sturzkampfflugzeug or “Stuka” as it's more commonly known. Aside from its armaments it had “Jericho trumpet” sirens mounted to it's main gear legs, and had one of the most unique looks for an aircraft at it's time. The painting idea was simple, just capture a dark moment in the lifeline of flight.
