24"x24", Acrylic on Woodcut (2014)
She’s the most iconic woman to come out of WWII, and yet, she
wasn’t just one woman. Rosie represented the millions of women that answered the call for help in the factories and farms across the nation to help our boys defeat the Nazis. From Norman Rockwell’s famous painting to the yellow background, work shirt wearing poster that has become famous, the image of a strong woman working to help win WWII is forever a part of our history, and this woodcut is my tribute to her.
